What the paperwork actually looks like
- Licence: bring the original. A photo on your phone is not enough.
- ID: passport, or your ID card. Every additional driver has to be named in the rental contract, nobody else may drive the car.
- Deposit: €750 for RS3, AMG E53 and M440d, €1,000 for the RS6, €1,500 for the R8 Spyder. Credit card hold or bank transfer, released within 5 working days after a clean return.
- Fuel: full out, full back. If it comes back short we charge the missing fuel at the pump price plus a €25 service fee.
- Insurance: full cover is included. Cover lapses for drink- or drug-driving, gross negligence and track use, the same rules for everyone.
- Off to Prague or the Alps? Message us on WhatsApp when you book. Cross-border trips need our written OK in advance so the cover is clean.
- Instant booking online. Free dates show in the calendar and your booking is confirmed right after payment. Weekends around block leave and PCS season go first, book early rather than late.
Why renting as a soldier is usually a pain: and why it isn't here.
You know the drill by now. Many German rental chains hit younger drivers with a steep "young driver" surcharge per day. Insurance gets bolted on at the counter as an extra fee. And the strongest thing on the lot is usually a diesel station wagon. Do you offer a military discount car rental in Germany?
We don't run a separate military discount on top of the list price, instead the price you see already reflects what the big chains only offer with surcharges stripped out: full insurance (Vollkasko) is included and there's no young-driver surcharge. For most soldiers that works out cheaper than a discounted rate with add-ons stacked on top. Ask on WhatsApp for longer bookings and we'll tell you honestly what we can do.
Does SOFA status work for renting a car in Germany?
Yes. If you're here under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), a private rental like ours has no special restriction tied to your SOFA status, you rent as any qualified driver would. SOFA-status soldiers and US civilians are both welcome.
Can I rent with just my US driver's license?
Yes, your valid US driver's license is accepted. Bring the original to pickup, a photo on your phone is not enough.
What documents do I need to rent as a US soldier in Germany?

Can I rent a car in Germany without a credit card?
For the security deposit we need a credit card in the renter's name. The deposit is held on your card and released after the car comes back clean. Everything else starts with an online booking that takes about 2 minutes, your confirmation arrives by email right after payment.
